Dr. Jyoti Bala Chauhan

Dr. (Mrs.) Jyoti Bala Chauhan, Professor, Biotechnology Department, has more than 29 years of industrial, teaching, research, and administrative experience. She has successfully obtained grants from various prestigious Government agencies like DST, UGC, CSIR, and VGST (Government of Karnataka). She has been actively engaged in research and has successfully guided one student to her Ph.D. She has guided several students for their M.Phil. and M.Sc. dissertations. She has served as the Head of the Department of BioTechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry and Botany from its inception in 2004 until 2020. She has successfully organised several National and State Level Seminars and Symposia as Organising Secretary/Convener. She has been a member of BOE and BOS for Life Science courses. Her research interest lies in the area of Cyanobacterial secondary metabolites, Nutraceuticals from plants and algae. She was the Co-ordinator of KSOU Programmes of M.Sc Biotechnology and Microbiology
